I was experimenting with some textures and particles, and obtained this image with a curious 3d effect. When you watch it, some parts of the front objects seem detached from the background.
The effect is best at a certain distance (around 1 meter), at least in my CRT.

I remember reading about an effect like what you made: how some colors appear to be in front of other colors to our eyes.

Yes, in general warm colors appear closer than cool colors, but I hadn’t seen an effect so strong before.
