Curvature Style Render (Not Pointiness)

hey guys,

is it possible to achieve a curvature/cavity effect with cycles or eevee?
pretty much every edge is highlighted except the planar ones.
the pointiness node doesn’t work as desired unfortunately.
(the image shows a matcap with cavity turned on)

Hey Chris,

have you tried the new AO shader? Input > Ambient Occlusion within the Node tree
Pointiness should work as well, you need to attach a color ramp node to adjust the strenght (same for ao)
Since 2.8, Pointiness should give desirable results on medium and high geo.
