curve modifier

Two questions, when watching tutorial on curve modifier I found my mesh cylinder has caps, how to remove them. Second - if when in object mode and adding the cylinder how do I keep it from being apart of the other objects in the scene?

  1. Select the cylinder, go into edit mode, select the virts at the ends of the cylinder, and press X to get the delete menu.
  2. I’m not exactly sure what you mean. If you’re trying to make sure the cylinder geometry is kept separate from whatever else is in the scene, then make sure that you are in object mode when you add the cylinder.
