Hey there I’m trying to put my brake light onto my cartoon car, but don’t want it to interfere too much with the nice shape I already have on the car wheel guard.
Do I just add more geometry to the wheel guard or does anyone else have some helpful suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

you have created some big n-gons that will not subsurface well. why not make the light a separate piece?
Yeah I’ve kept them big to have nice big curves, so you reckon just add more geometry?
And this is for a 3d print so need it joined on.

are you going to subsurface it?

if you are subsurfacing it, you should avoid using n-gons. i guess you will want to add more geometry.
(edit) maybe something like this:

What Modron said and also if you’re going to subsurf it then I’m sure you can get away with far fewer polygons in the taillight.
Thanks guys,
I tried your way Modron, but seems less geometry was the way to go, so thanks all…
