I was inspired by amazing renders recently posted on the gallery so I started to model some bike parts to make a special build…
The pedal is a model I made a few months ago. It was quite difficult so I’m just using it as is for this project
I’ve just finished the crank though :
Nice efforts! That pedal remind me of my bike’s (a 2016 Kona Kahuna, yay!) pedals Racface Aeffect flats with Raceface cranks … Fabric Gripper bottle with a similar cage.
Which bike are you using as ref? Or is this a custom build, woohoo!
You’re a connoisseur @NeilJamesFrarey; the pedal is a Raceface Atlas (nice references on their website).
To be honest, I select the pieces that I think are interesting from a modelling point of view only. I have more or less an idea of the final assembly, but I don’t thing it’s going to appeal to real cyclists
Oopzy sorry to geek out.
I love most all structures, rhythms and patterns and their qualities thereof. Bikes are textually rich of all of that. From the grips on the handle bars to the welds (alloy frames) to the mud or grit from a ride, ha! Even the gearing transfer of physical energy … to the stopping power of disc brakes too. And the suspension(s) is a whole other deal! Including the saddle!
Unsung heroes … all the bearings inside the various components, ha!
Look forward to your composition!
Cyclists are always very enthusiastic when they talk about their machine(s). Hopefully you won’t be too offended by what I have in mind…
Here’s today’s model : the stem (inspired by amazing parts from https://www.fern-fahrraeder.de/)
Joli travail, respect !!
Topology looks so good, congrats
Awesome modelling - really, really nice topology!
Thank you @Markus-ipse
I’ve received some feedback to improve the topology of the upper part of the saddle (triangles, n-gones, poles…). Hopefully, I’ll be able to do it this next week.
Seeing your clean topology is almost soothing to me
Beautiful topology and project.
Wow, didn’t expect that!
