I am working on this scene with trees which the branches and pine needles are a plane with alpha setup in the material. They look fine until it overlaps with other trees with the same material. Does anyone know a solution to get rid of the black artifacts I am seeing here? Thanks.
That was my immediate thought, too. Nothing to do with the material setup, and almost certainly to do with the transparency bounces.
To confirm, do a render with one transparency bounce, and you will see an awful lot more black.
Yeah, I was suggesting trying more bounces.
I know. I suggested fewer because it proves the issue. Once proved, then increase to the appropriate number (whatever works).
Changing the transparency bounces totally solved my issue. Thank you so much for taking time to respond to my question.
