Cycles Procedural Wood Tutorials

Hi Everyone!

You may have seen some of my wood shaders on Blendswap, and I wanted to teach others what I’ve learned along the way. I’ve created a couple of multi-part procedural wood tutorials on my blog and I’d love any feedback on them. They’re text-based tutorials on a blog, and I’ve tried to make them clear, educational, and realistic. Please let me know what you think!

Thank you very much. Can’t wait to go through the tutorial tonight and study the node setup.

Nice methodical approach and good results. Thanks for sharing!

@meshmonkey and @OLG, thanks for checking them out! Let me know if you make anything else using the same ideas.

Nicely done. I appreciate video tutorials but prefer a carefully written step-by-step procedure. I learned a several things. Thanks.

I like tut with pictures. Thanks

@g60 and @Oyster, thanks! Glad you liked them! I plan to do more in the future.

Thank you very much for this tutorial. I think your explanations are really clear.

augh, I updated my URL and didn’t check all of the links to make sure they were updated. Apologies to anyone who tried to visit these and ended up at a shoe store or page with no images. :frowning: I’ve fixed all the ones I could find and hope you can check them out again.
