Darwin, a 3D character in NPR handpainted style. Based on a concept by the amazing artist Skel (skelestonkss) — huge thanks for the awesome art and inspiration! (The concept is inspired by Darwin Watterson from The Amazing World of Gumball)
The model was created in Blender, AO baked in Marmoset Toolbag, and final texture tweaks done in Photoshop.
Hi, Big Thanks! In the description of every piece, on Instagram, ArtStation, or YouTube, I write what tools I use and describe the pipeline. I also have a few timelapses on Instagram and YouTube showing the whole process from blocking to final. That should give a general idea.
And one more thing: right now I’m working on a tutorial with a new hand-painted character. I’m aiming to finish it by the end of the month.
As for the timing, as far as I remember, the whole project took around 18 hours of work.
