One ‘no’ is usually enough. multiple 'no’s all in a row can read as rude, by the way.

I’m not sure what your problem is, it works fine for me:

do you have too many addons installed?

Sorry I was a little frustrated when I saw that single image as though I don’t know how to click “view”.
It’s not you, it’s me, sorry.

It doesn’t work…the fact that it works for you absolutely confounds me.
Again thank you for the video, that took effort and I appreciate it.
It just doesn’t work for me.

Update: I found the source of the way to create my issue but not the solution, @SterlingRoth, try execute view3d.view_roll on the viewport and do it, tilt it a little to the left or right, the s->x/y/z->0 method will fail.

Update, wait, now it works again, but on another Blender instance not on the old one.
No new add-on was activated on the old one…

You are right, the error is on my part.

I opened YET ANOTHER INSTANCE, it doesn’t work again !

This is so frustrating !
I didn’t do anything new, I didn’t change anything, it just simply doesn’t work again.

Cool, I was trying view rolling and having the same result, so I was confused.

Well the mystery isn’t solved, but hopefully the issue doesn’t come back.

edit: uh oh

I have updated the reply with image, it doesn’t work again :frowning:

Wait…I can replicate it, instead of the tilted left or right view, try looking at it from an iso view, like somewhere inbetween two views, set it to orthographic, this time, it WILL fail for you !

Back in 3ds max, this was not an issue.

This should not theoretically be a problem, and it isn’t (in 3DS MAX) especially since we set it to orthographic view negating perspective compensation, the fact that Blender can’t do this is…

do you have auto perspective on? are you sure that you are toggling into ortho view?

your screenshots sure look like they are orthographic, but the only way I can transform that shape is if it is in perspective

Yeah try it, orthographic view (STAY on ortho view), get on some top left or top right (basically not just a tiled single view) and execute scake->x/y/z->0.
It
will
fail.

:frowning:

Tried again…it just doesn’t work.
It’s orthographic…not perspective view…
It shouldn’t be a problem but it is.

I still can’t reproduce it. I see you have the symmetry x toggle on, if you disable that, does it help?

I tried enabling it to reproduce the effect here, but I still couldn’t

It might be it…
I am not in front of the com now but you are sharp and observant.
Thank you for helping @SterlingRoth.

Yepp… the problems seems to be symmetry on X… works for me (linux b312 b320)
