Day 1 AI mesh gen - need brutal feedback

I built an AI mesh generator in 24 hours. This is raw output with zero cleanup. Prompt was “create house and interior.”

If this dropped into your Blender scene as a starting point, would it save you time blocking out, or would it create more cleanup than it’s worth?

Be brutal. Topology, edge flow, proportions, scale - tell me which one is the biggest problem. Or tell me if the whole approach is just not useful for professional work.

If you had to change one thing to make this usable as a base mesh, what would it be?

Not helpful. A shortcut to a place you don’t want to be doesn’t save any time. A pro isn’t going to benefit from this at all, this is 2 minutes of work.

Also, a lot of pros have claude too. I do, and If I need a custom tool I will generate one. The power of ai is how easy it is to create a custom tool to fit your needs. I have zero interest in getting someone else’s vibe coded tool.

I do not think this tool will save any time and it certainly will not attract sales.

Thanks for the honesty. Is the main blocker the output quality, or is it that pros can just build their own tools with Claude? Trying to understand where the actual problem is.

Hi there,
How did you create the actual generator, I assume it is based of an existing model. Did you create the UI or is some / all of it AI generated?

both? the quality is non-existent. if you included interior walls and doors with auto populated assets, there might be some utility, I guess. But the only people that would use it are people that don’t care about the quality of the output.

Personally for me, I would not want to use AI to generate any models, materials, etc for my Blender scene. When I do use AI to help with Blender, I generally just use it for advice on how to do something. I find it can be useful for pointing me in the right direction, I then use the documentation and other resources to actually do it.

I do occasionally find AI can be good for quick inspiration, as I can ask it to generate stuff quickly to see how it looks, although most of the time I would rather find an existing artwork I like.

It’s a Day 1 prototype just basic primitives arranged by prompt, nothing fancy under the hood yet. The UI is rough because I built it in 24 hours.

Since you looked at it honest question: if the output quality was actually good, would a standalone tool like this fit your workflow, or would you only use it if it was inside Blender?

Thanks for the honesty. The interior walls/doors with auto-populated assets note is interesting is that something you’d actually use in your workflow, or just theoretically?

I think the short answer is no.

As I have explained before on this forum (I am happy to repeat it, as I understand you probably haven’t seen it), I do Blender for fun. Therefore I like to do everything myself as I enjoy doing it, I don’t have any time constraints. For me using AI would just take away from that, as I enjoy the process.

A good example, is today I spent about 2 hours perfecting the rocks in my scene, someone else might prefer to use AI or an automation to do it, but I enjoy perfecting it and doing it myself.

If you could generate reasonable floorplans with doors and windows and closets and flag each room for asset type it might have some utility, but I don’t have a uses case for it in my workflow. Generating walls and furniture placement really isn’t that time consuming, placing assets is. If you can populate bedrooms, kitchens, living rooms, laundry rooms and garages in a reasonable way with quality assets, I could imagine someone finding value in that, but that’s a big ask and I still don’t anticipate it making enough sales to cover the tokens it would take to code it, let alone operate it.

This software has nothing to do with Blender, but I’m leaving it in general discussion. It will remain open for the time being, but be aware that our forum does have an AI content policy.

If I just wanted to be lazy and not do any work myself, I’d download a much better existing house from SketchFab. That’s your competition- not other generators, but the massive dataset of freely available quality models already out there, of which there are millions
