Some tech infos:
-it runs 20-25 fps on my old Gef7600 in hd resolution
-it uses only 5-6 lights but looks more (with a trick: I put the lights various positions when the player moves from room to room)
-every model are rendered from hipoly to lowpoly, uses normalmaps, reflections etc.
-I plan 5 episodes, in an episode there is 4-6 levels with 1-3 hours of play
-the file size of an episode will be small, 40-50 megs zipped
-I coded a simple “adventure system” so the making of the next parts is very easy
-this will be a donation based game, next episode come when enough donation comes, Blender fans will love this I hope
Sure, because the critical work is already done. The trailer is captured from the game, no fake renders or something - I played the game and captured it.
Now I am working on the first episode. Check the download page at the homepage, there I show the developing progress.
The planned release date of the EP1 is july 1.
"Hi, I can’t tell you the exact amout of money.
But some facts:
-the first episode is 4-5 months of work
-in Hungary I need to $400(!) to live per months (this is a very low amount of money I think)
-you must add taxes, and in Hungary the taxes are very high, so we must calculate with a 1.7 multiplier…
-I must add some other amount of money (extra costs) so round up this all to $1000 per month.
So: calculating with these I need at least $4000 for episode 1. And don’t forget with this I don’t have any profit, I just live with this. But I can start to work in episode 2.
I think this is a very very low amount of money for a game developing…"
Plus:
-You must know this is not a hobby project, this is my JOB. I am not a student.
I think you will have luck there. The community is very generous and your game is already excellent! When you show people the work you have put in already, I don’t think anyone there will wait to donate.
