"Deep Blue Town" - Kivic Music Video W.I.P

I’ve decided to start a music video with my Kivouachian character Flavia, and here is a tiny preview. Blender 2.92, Eevee. Song: “Deep Blue Town” by team Umifure (made for Sanyo). Not meant for profit. I’m just obsessed with this song. Kivouachians belong to Sam Fennah.
I want your thoughts on the animation, stylization, and colors used. Also, if motion blur fits well here, since texture scrolling effects do not receive it.

Planning to develop few walk cycles for Flavia before moving further. Here is the regular walk:

Trying to create sort of layered animation system. Action constraint will be used to run a walk cycle, then the “main action” can apply corrections (such as posture and tail movement) on top of it

More walk cycles:

I’ve set up the rig so it can play walk cycles using Armature constraints and blend several of them together. Still it is hard to animate decent locomotion

Flavia’s locomotion test is finally done. She runs into unpleasant character from her past in the mean streets of Kasino district. Music from https://www.purple-planet.com/ and sounds from https://freesound.org/ were used (https://freesound.org/people/AngelicWings/sounds/408110/, https://freesound.org/people/Breviceps/sounds/573583/ , https://freesound.org/people/zimbot/sounds/122121/ and more. Made in Blender 2.93/3.6

Hey, looks promising.
I don’t think you need motion blur here, doesn’t really fit the style.
For your animation I feel like mostly timing of the keyframes is a bit off. Have you tired animating from reference to get a feeling for timing and weight?

I’ll possibly can come up with some geonode-based squash and stretch solution to replace motion blur

And I did use references for walk cycles. I’ll also follow the reference for dance animation when I’ll get to it. Will look ridiculous anyway, since I’ll need to translate human motion to four legged character. But we’ll see

The project is grinding to halt because I tried to make some modular assets, and it is soul crushing for me

Anybody here have some tips how to plan ahead large scenes? I got into brain freeze phase with my city background
