deleting animation from a duplicated object

Is there a way of deleting animation from a duplicated object (without removing the animation from original object?

I have an animated object that I duplicate then I try to remove the animation from the duplicated object and it removes it from the original object.

I’ve tried Shift+D and Alt+D and Make Single User, etc.

Change a window to a dopesheet. From the header change from the dopesheet to an action editor. Select the object you want to remove the animation. Press the 2 next to the action name to make it a single user then press the X to delete it.
