This the first time that I try to export a Gif from Blender… and it is not supported. Or can i just not find it?
I had to use some online converters. How have you done it?
This is my proposal in 80 by 50 px:

The alpha channell causes some flickering in the animation that i cant get rid of.

At this time I’m leaning most towards the version by @ThomasKole; I like the speed and subtle ‘bump’ effect. Would you be able to provide 2 gifs following the specifications in the OP, Thomas?

Here’s what I did:

Step 1 - Blender: Render frames to .png files

Tips
  • I composited in the background colour inside blender rather than rendering transparent (tried that first but the alpha looked bad) - example compositor nodes.
  • Color management -> set view transform to Standard to render the exact colour you set (eg. #ffffff in, #ffffff out). If you wish to keep Filmic transform, I found these colour values to match pretty well through trial and error (given look:none, exposure:0, gamma:1):
    • Dark theme: rgb = 0.0149, 0.0149, 0.0149
    • Light theme: rgb = 17.2373, 17.2373, 17.2373

Step 2 - Krita: Render animation as .gif

Step-by-step
  • Open Krita
  • New document of correct size (80px)
  • File -> import animation frames
    • Add images, navigate to folder with your frames, select all, open, OK
  • Switch to an animation workspace so you can see the timeline, set end frame
  • File -> render animation (not file -> export)
    • Set export: video, render as: gif image, OK
