Hi guys,
As both duplicate objects, What is the difference between Shift+D and Alt+D…?
Make both a Shift+D and Alt+D copy of the default cube. Now go to mesh mode and move one of the vertices. The Shift+D copy has a new independent mesh and isn’t affected. The Alt+D copy will “inherit” the same changes as the original.
Alt+D is very useful if you might make changes in the future and you want all copies to automatically get the change (as opposed to individually updating each one by one). I think it also requires less memory, which is useful for a high object count, or large number of vertices.
oh…thank you see360…
for many objects alt +D if i change anything in first object or main change all objects of group?
@linuxfree All objects linked via Alt+D duplication will share the same mesh. All changes to the mesh through editing any of the objects will change the rest.
then if i make a replace mesh case is for a lot of same object in particle system for use like grass
but i wish show only in current level and made invisible to another before levels. i need replace mesh with no alpha or no difuse enable texture.Replace mesh will solve that?
