Disable Subsurface Scattering globally

Hello,

back in Blender 2.79 there was an onboard addon called Display Tools which was able to deactivate Subsurface Scattering for quick preview renders. Is there any Python command to disable SSS for the rendering/viewport in 2.9x. So I can kinda turn it off and on again? Without messing with the material nodes manually?
