Discourse Updated to 3.1.0.beta3

We just updated Discourse to the latest version:

The most important user facing changes are:

Push notifications on macOS Ventura

We’ve added support for push notifications on macOS, via service workers. This is supported on Ventura and later. We anticipate Apple adding support for push notifications in iOS on iPhones and iPads later this year.

It can take a moment for links to turn into a player. Do you have links of those thumbnails? I’d like to see why they aren’t working.

Huh that’s very interesting indeed. I found this issue with posts from before yesterday’s upgrade too, so I don’t think it’s related to that. I’ll rebake (re-render the HTML) all of this week’s posts as a quick fix and will try to look deeper into what’s happening later today. Thanks for letting me know!

Hi. For future knowledge, you can get thumbnail links for both Vimeo and YouTube via this easy process:

  1. Get the JSON file for the BlenderArtists post. For example:
    https://blenderartists.org/raw/1459790/3

  2. Enter the Vimeo video link from the JSON file to this site, and output a URL to the video thumbnail:
    https://www.softr.io/tools/download-vimeo-thumbnail

  3. Enter the YouTube video link from the JSON file to this site, and output a URL to the video thumbnail:
    https://www.get-youtube-thumbnail.com/

That’s not necessary; Discourse will download these automatically.

I was referring to the thumbnail “links” you were asking for to test whether they weren’t working.

I think you were misunderstanding my question
