Displacement modifier isn't working


As shown in the image above, there are these circles where the texture axis kind of cuts through the model. is there a way to put this displacement modifier all around the model evenly? I asked this on reddit but no one answered me. ):

…it seems you are using object (or world) coordinates for mapping and no UV’s irrespectivelly of displacement ?

ive been experimenting so idk wehat settings i had on for this, but heres the newest iteration


above i just have solidify and subdivision modifiers

So you have selected object coordinates of the cube for your cylindrical object… what do you expect this to do even when using custom normals… of the cube… ??

I don’t know what material you used?
If you used an image, try using UV. :thinking:

But… you have to know what you want to do and also which techniques does what… so i suggest some basics like for example (or any other found with search words: blender displacement maps ) :
