I think it’s only a part of the old texturing system, which can now be used only for brushes and with the displacement modifier.

Yeah, I’ve used it a lot with the displacement modifier, but I was wondering why isn’t it available in the shader editor for materials, since it is quite handy… I see now it is possible to recreate the different combinations, but it would be nice to have just this simplificated node…
