do games become faster when published?

hi,

say that i have a game and it runs quite slowly in blender. Will the speed become ok if i make it an .exe?

it should run faster when in EXE form.

The speed does increase, but don’t expect it to be that much.

Thats using game deployer right? Same thing for me,
and it changes my monitor’s refresh rate from 85mhz to 60mhz

With publisher it should be a different story though…

The sound should work in the gamedeployer, but the refresh rate…
BTW, I have a question about this:
Does this only happen when the gamedeployer changes the resolution or also if you play a game which changes the resolution? The screen resolution is changes via an API call and there is no other way I know to do this, so your monitor should also flicker when you play any other game.

I’m pretty sure that he’s talking about publisher exes, not gamedeployer ones. Publisher exes increase the speed a little.

Nope, talking about lovely 2.25 exes - they don’t work well for me at all. The refresh problem is very similar to the refresh problem I had with GameDeployer, so it must be a related problem? Never have the problem with other games that run in fullscreen, but I suspect it’s a windows xp problem.

2.25 exe works faster for me, Some games go from useless to OK. There is lots of oppertunity for improvement when it comes to game speed.
