Does it make sense to produce videos in Blender instead of After Effects?

Hi everyone,

I’m a fan of Alt Shift X Youtube channel (They create incredibly elaborate summary videos related to Game of Thrones, Westworld and more).

They seek for an advice about transition to Blender from After Effects as seen below:

You can take a look at one of their videos as an example for what they do. Please reply here or on Twitter.

Cheers,

I took your initiative and left my opinion on their twitter.

The gist of it is that while I would be extatic to be able to only use Blender for video instead of Premiere or After Effects, I don’t have good experience in using it. Some Issues I had:

  • Intuitive click-drag to transform footage
  • playback slow or freezing
  • frame interpolation was jumpy

Again, I would love to be schooled in this case.
