Does my graphics card support cycles rendering?

Hello,

I recently started 3D modelling and I quickly noticed that rendering can take up a whole lot of time.
I found out that it could be sped up by using the gpu to render.
I tried setting it up, but I get an error.

Pc specs
4GB ram
amd phenom II x4 955 BE @ 3.2Ghz cpu
amd HD 5770 graphics card

What I did to set the graphics rendering up.
file > user preferences > system tab
compute device: OpenCL > juniper (which is the codename for my gpu apparently)

Then, in properties > render > render > feature set: experimental
Device: GPU Compute

Well, then I try to render, and I get the following error message ‘OpdenCL build failed: errors in console’
What’s in the console?
‘Compiling OpenCL kernel …
OpenCL build faield: errors in console
calcclCompile failedError: Creating kernel kernel_ocl_path_trace failed!’

I have googled around quite a lot before asking this here, I have already updated my graphics card drivers to the newest amd catalyst control center 12.10
I have the same error before and after the update.

So, is my graphics card supported, and is this error resolvable or do I need to keep using my cpu to render?

Thanks in advance,
azeirah

Blender not support AMD/ATI graphics cards because of issues with the AMD compiler and Cycles.
Blender Foundation stopped development for AMD/ATI.
In the next version 2.65 the support is complete disabled.
This is bad for AMD/ATI user.
The only way to use Cycles on the GPU is Nvidia.

Cheers, mib.

That’s unfortunate, but thanks for the clear reply.
