Does realtime raytracing make Eevee obsolete?

Are you sure you don’t need a specific GPU architecture to perform this decently ?
Where did you get the info that current GPUs can use a software driver fallback and that it won’t completely explode the render time ?

In any case, as long as it doesn’t get real-time with modern GPUs, it means Eevee is not obsolete.

Making Cycles faster through AI denoising is definitely a place to put our efforts in (and it’s already being worked on) but I’m confident Eevee will be relevant for years.
