Is it possible to use the depth of feild in an animation and even control the focusing over time?

I beleive that this is possible. Haven’t done it myself, but should be able to do it.
If you are using strubi’s DOF sequence plugin, you should be able to apply different settings on each scene via the sequence editor and probably control the DOF affect via IPO’s or maybe there is a python script that can change the plugin settings over the anim frame length.
That is all that I can think of.

If you use Strubi’s plugin, you can control the focus with a Sequence IPO. If you use the Empty tracking with rotative path with motion blur technique, you can animate the Empty. If you use Caronte’s material technique, you can animate the Empty.
