I have not been active since a long time… But I have tried to get back to planes, and here it is the start of the Do 335 Pfeil (in night fighter version A-6). This plane have been built (60 models, 20 really fighting before the end of war) but the night fighter version prototype never flew in operations.
@ferrettank: thank you, glad you like it. Texturing will be a loooonnnng job
@RickyBlender: I forgot to put the link, thanks. They got the idea because of the work (pre war) on flying boats which have push/pull propellers maybe (good idea for the submarine, should have made this one with the okha :)).
@NeilF92: hey, nice to see you here ! I am a fan of your 2D artwork, honoured you follow this one. You choose a hard subject with the Buccaneer. Thanks.
It would have been quite a formidable fighter if it had made it into production . I seem to recall it’s performance would have been up there with the Tempest and Mustang near enough.
@NeilF92: Yes, you are right it was supposed to be one of fastest propelled WWII planes (760 km/h for the single seat version). It was able to fly at 500 km/h only with the push propeller according to test pilots.
@RickyBlender: yes it is a A6 version. There are not really a lot of references, but I get photos and references from Skyraider3D, thanks to him
@coolfield : thanks, I appreciate you trust it @tommy: thanks, I will try to post some wires soon. @Smokey: it is a night night fighter (I am not sure to understand what you mean, sorry :))
Here is the current progress. Slowly progressing on details and landing gear, I will come back to canopy another day
