To test Blender’s new Asset Browser feature I’ve been converting old free scenes/objects from Blendswap.com and Archive3d.net into assets. In almost every case I drastically reduce the file size & polycount, clean up the geometry, remesh or rebuild and re-UV-map pointlessly dense objects, make new procedural materials or enhance the original image based textures with PBR shaders.
