It’s way cool. I’ve got a CRT and an old LCD I got for free, nothin’ special, but my screen real estate is great. And I didn’t have to do a darn thing, not even loading drivers, just plug-n-play. Do it! As for work flow, actually, I find it most useful when I open photoshop to texture alongside a blender window. Blender runs fine across the two screens, as will most programs, but I’ve found, in my case, that it puts a drain on my not-so-bleeding-edge graphics card. BTW, I assume you have a graphics card that supports this feature, or you wouldn’t be asking, right?
Yes, my graphics card is a nvidia 6800gt w/ two dvi ports.
Do you run same res on both monitors? I was wondering if I could get by w/ a 20" widescreen and the 19" standard I have now.
the wide screen would run at 1680x1050 and my monitor i have now is 1280x1024. Is there a way to make both of them work or do they have to be same size and res?
Its really a good price and has a dvi cable. I could get two of these and that monitor arm for like 500 bucks. Be a nice setup…just not sure if they are good monitors cant find any reviews on the acer.
Wal-Mart even has it for sale at same price as egg…
Sorry I missed your question. I can tell you that you couldn’t possibly have 2 more DISsimilar monitors than I have…one is a Dell LCD, the other is an HP CRT, each sporting different max resolutions and optimal refresh rates. You really shouldn’t have any problems. And, if I’m not totally off here, I believe your card has one VGA port and one DVI port, but will come with a DVI-to-VGA adaptor - mine did, and it’s only a 5200.
No serious issues with these monitors (one had a single dead pixel in one corner on arrival . . . no big concern for me though). I’ve had them for about a year, and have no complaints.
Also, I was thinking about this monitor . . . just not sure if they are good monitors cant find any reviews on the acer.
I can’t say for sure that these are not good monitors . . . but from my experience working at a computer repair shop, I’d generally avoid Acers unless I got a really good deal.
