Duplicate and Separate broken?

Hi folks. This has been bugging me for a while.

[Shift+D] to duplicate a face on a mesh. [P, Selected] to create a new mesh from the new duplicated face. Always fails. I don’t get a new face, just the original face now detached from the first mesh.

I used to use this a lot. How are we meant to achieve this now?



What version?

With version 2.82 or 2.82a, this method works correctly.

Go to key map preferences and search for Shift D. To see how it’s binded

Check before separate if the face is really duplicated. It is?
