Dynamics problem... polaroids falling to the ground..... too thin? or something else?

Hi guys…

I have a problem…I am trying to make an animation of a bunch of polaroids falling to the ground… I have made sure to scale them up so that they have a decent depth… (there is only so much I can do to avoid them looking like cubes)…but to no avail…they are still intersecting one another…

I have the substeps cranked up to 5 which is the max…(??? from what I can tell)

do u guys have any hints/suggestions how to achieve this?

Also…they do not really bounce… and I can’t find bounce settings for either the polaroids or the collision plane…

Thank you…

In the Physics tab what physics type are they and what collision bounds do they have?http://www.pasteall.org/pic/show.php?id=29204

The ‘bounce’ can be achieved by changing the elasticity settings in the materials on both objects.

If messing around with the physics and bounding box doesn’t help, you can always upload your .blend.

Thanks for your help… my simulation runs better now that I have the bounding box setting straight… I had no idea there were physics settings in materials…

Thanks again…Tom

No problem - glad to help.
