Hi,
I already answered you now more than 24 hours ago. I gave you the exact same solution as @blndrusr gave you.
I’ll add that indeed you keyframed your feature set to clay, which makes any change to it to be overriden by the keyframe when rendering.
A) don’t keyframe feature set B) set it to supported. C) in the future, please use the clay preset as said in my answer instead of manually setting the feature set unless you are looking for a very particular effect.
This forum has a very helpful community. Thanks all for jumping in by the way. But @Rod_Sawatsky, I think it’s better to wisely use the time people spend voluntary to help?
Just wanted to send a big thankyou to Matthieu who responded on BlenderMarket and found that i had inadvertently keyframed the render engine selection…must have pressed “I” without knowing. it was overriding my attempts to reset. E-Cycles is humming along beautifully now and i can’t wait to do a real project with it. fantastic addon and thanks for your responsiveness Matthieu
Addon!.. sheeeet… E-Cycles is a way of life yo! Be sure to tell your friends and/or colleagues Rod. I’ll tell anyone who listen about E-Cycles… the starter at the golf course, gal taking my order at the drive thru…
j/k… but E-C is not merely an addon, in my book. ; - )
you have the perspective of deeper knowledge of the blender platform AND E-cycles than me. i’m new to it all and still unsure of all the Blender jargon. Of course it’s not quite accurate to call this a separate render engine…so maybe “uber mega enhanced render technology”? Glad to hear how strongly you feel about E-cycles as it helps me feel justified in the purchase
if you have an NVLink between the 2 and an SLI-compatible motherboard, yes.
On Linux it works out of the box.
On Windows, some drivers are buggy it seems and it’s kind of hard to get it working for some users. Windows also requires to activate SLI in the control panel for this functionnality to work.
Hi, there are release builds for 2.82a and 2.83, all other builds are bug fix or new 2.90 builds. E_cycles_2.83_release_v20200605, for example.
Later builds are faster usually but may have bugs.
You can work in a stable release build and render in 2.90 but keep a copy of the original file.
Im still deciding for wich RTX I shold go, so it is possible to get normal E cycles (i have a 1080ti) and then when i dicede which RTX card Ill get upgrade to Ecycles RTX?
I agree with ps8, also, think of it as a kind of backpack with new technology. Cycles gets developed by many different developers and E-Cycles is uniting all the latest and greatest stuff to it.
Since last year yes. It’s available in the layer panel. You just have to pick the light collections/world and name your layer to find them in the Render Layers node.
