Use in node editor And HDRI Image
please mention your suggestion and comments to improve my work.
Looks great but the displacement or bump on the clouds looks to strong. For me they have more similarity to ice or snow. But besides that the earth looks awesome to me.
Ok thank you for your valuable suggestion. i’m improve my work .
The clouds need to be a lot less noticable. As it stands, the planet looks like it’s covered in snow. Consider looking at reference photos.
Hey,
Like the others said, clouds look weird. You use too much displacement, and I think it’s not necessary btw. You also need to add an atmosphere to the planet. Without it, it looks unnatural and flat. Also, I think clouds are casting some shadow on the ground.
I did a quick test with eevee and with 3 layers : planet + clouds + atmosphere, we can get a pretty nice looking i guess.
Layer 1 : Earth
Layer 2 : Clouds
Layer 3 : Atmosphere
Have a nice day : )
Ok thank you
Thank you, i’m trying this method.
Would you please show me the node that would be much more helpful in my work.
Did you give 3 types of material in that sphere,if that
would you please tell me how to do it,so that i can improve my knowledge.
Yeah, sure, here are the nodes.
Layer 1 : Isolate the water color to ajust the roughness
Layer 2 : Overlap two cloud textures and add a curve to tweak the density
Layer 3 : Basic fresnel with color ramp to control
Thank you, i’m trying this method.
Your atmospheric layer seems way too opaque. Did you use a transparent node to only keep the rim of the sphere ?
And I think clouds are too high. The atmosphere needs to go above the clouds.
If the textures are not too heavy, can u pack them into the .blend and replace the file in your previous post ?

Nice, you’re alsmost there : )
- The issue comes from the color ramp of the atmosphere. The color needs to be more on the rim of the sphere and nothing in the center. The mix value was too low.
- Clouds needs to be just a little bit higher in order to cast shadow on the ground.
- In color management settings, you put “very high contrast”. Maybe it’s a bit too extreme.
- Don’t forget to smooth objects (object → shade smooth, or W key → shade smooth)
- Saturation of the earth texture are a bit too low
- Bump sun value to something between 1.5 - 2.
