Easiest way to make hexagon/pentagons

Heya people im not really sure if this is possible, ok im sure it is but it might be difficult.

I want to create and underwater cage for fish so that they can be farmed in a manner that doesnt impact the natural sea habitat. I have a picture of what i want to create but i dont know what the best way of doing it is.

Thank you:)

There’s a plugin “Regular Solids” in the Add-Mesh category. It has a Dodecahedron (purely 5-sided), Icosahedron (5 and 6 sided, like the one in your picture), and lots of others

Where would i be able to get the plug in? i tried to extract all the plug ins from the website but nothing at all changed on my blender interface?

It should ship with Blender. Just go to File -> User Preferences -> Add-on tab. In the search box just search for “Regular Solid”. Click the little checkbox next to the running man to turn it on. Then if you check your add -> mesh menu there should be some new options in there. Add a solid then check the operator panel to change it’s settings.

Thankys you two:) Problem has been solved:)

i don’t see regular or solid when i search in 2.8. i tried official, community and testing
the only thing i see when i search mesh is archimesh and edit mesh

The add-on is now “Add Mesh: Extra Objects”. To add a *dron, Add -> Mesh -> Math Function -> Regular Solid.

Old school way:

Create an IcoSphere with res 2 , subdivide it once and clean up the faces.

Here I did that and took me couple min.
