I’m working on a bigger project, and I really need someone to dumb this down for me.
I create a texture and make it into an asset.
Then I want to use it throughout multiple files.
Now somewhere down the line, I decide to tweak said texture, in some way or another.
How - by god how - do I make it update throughout all the documents that contains said texture? Same goes for other types of assets, like, furniture and characters with rigging. I just don’t get it, and I’m really tired and frustrated, that I’m apparently this stupid.
Whoever can dumb this way way down for me, gets my eternal gratitude!
It only uodates when you reload the file it is linked to. There is also an extra button in the files menu called revert which automatically rstores the last save point. That works as well.
Or you can reload the linked file in the outliner but that takrs longer than reloading the whole file for some reason mstrong textaking it useless.
And just how do I reload the file? Do you mean close the base document, then open up the one that’s supposed to have changes? Or is it some special expression that I am not familiar with?
Also, does this work with rigged characters as well? As far as I can tell, linking turns the object completely static, where no editing is possible, which is fine for an object, not so much for a character I will be posing.
