Eevee - Cube not Casting Shadows on Plane

Hi, using Blender 2.8. I am confused as to why the cube is not casting a shadow when I add a material to the plane. The cube does cast a shadow when I use a diffuse node and not image texture, but it does not cast a shadow when I add a material to the plane object. I have included an .blend file. Would appreciate it if someone could look at it. Thanks.

You connect Image Texture Color output to Color input for some shader (Principled BSDF for example) before material Output node in plane material.

As Yafu said, you need a shader between the texture and output. You currently don’t have one for the plane material.
