The feline, I’m not entirely sure (maybe its due to the angle), but the head-anatomy seems closer to a canine or maybe a bear?
There seems to be too much of a snout protruding forward, if that makes sense.
On felines, its more like a continuous slope from the front towards the nose, when viewed in profile.
On top of that, for a tigers it lacks that typical ‘beard’, I think.
But sure has a lot of pothential.
yeah i would agree with that so far re the lion, I am slowly refining it. If you put too much hair it looks like a teddy bear , too little and it looks like he is bald
Then i will have to paint some clump masks to make it less homogenous
I am still looking at the anatomy of the lions face, have n’t done any wildlife for a long time, so hopefully I can improve it
The beard will will done with a clump map and frizzle of some kind
Thnaks for the feedback though, it’s a lioness and I need to really gather more reference to make it spot on
Lots of subtle things going on , which are sometimes tough to get right
wel its not toot bad as I hide the sections that I am not working on and use simplify in the render menu. Re the lioness, its broken down in to different sections, head, body etc
The human head hairstyles though are all one group. just a question of reducing the amount of hairs in the interpolation modifier, then turn bak up for the render
My computer has 64 GB Ram and am using an RTX 2070 vid card
can’t really afford a new one right now
hair is a weird thing, in one scene the hair looks nice and soft, but the same shader in another scene just looks bad/too strandy/liney. not sure if its a scaling issue or the size of the lights
so this is done in cycles, basic shader diffuse/glossiness with SSS node. +displacement from zbrush
i want to add some of the other features like sheen etc, but will get around to it soon.
I was having problems with the principled shader, so decided to do it this way
