Emission - Volume?

I’m trying to follow a tutorial, which has Emission and Volume linked in the material.
But instead of a fair color, mine looks all blocky / pixelated / ugly.
I tried it on my laptop too, with the same failed results. Both with Blender 3.1.2
Perhaps a bug or a setting I’m missing?

Tutorial:

My attempt:

Your strength is higher than the original.

Strangely in mine, it does not happen. Even with fewer samples.

What is the size of your render?

(Noticed that last second, but the strength didn’t make a difference.)

I played around with the render now and found out that in Eevee it looks this blurry,
in Cycles it looks blurry in Material Preview,
but in Cycles Rendered it has the right look.

Does that mean this method only works in Cycles, or is it also somehow possible in Eevee?

In eevee you need to change the volume settings to work. Here, in tilesize. Smaller is better.

And bear in mind that Eevee will never give the level of precision with volumetric you can get with Cycles

When it gets too low, it straight up dissapears.

Around 80 is when it starts to vanish.

I guess that’s as good as it gets then this way.
Thank you for the help. I suppose I better look up other tutorials.

I was talking about the tile size, not the other values. The values there I have are almost zero because I don’t want the viewport trying to reproduce volumetric in Blender cause Eevee controls how the material preview mode works.

Anyway, Eevee doesn’t handle well volumes inside meshes.
