enabling mouse gestures in blender 2.62

for some reason, i can’t do mouse gestures in blender 2.62.
i had to downgrade due to some problems with blender 2.63a.
the current problem i’m having is that while i click with the LMB, it just moves the 3d cursor.
i have the tendency to press Y, for an example, instead of G.
it appears to rip whatever face i just selected off of it’s location and i don’t like it.
i’d like to use gestures because they’re harder to mess up. if possible, i’d like to create or edit the gestures that exit so that they make a bit more sense.

TL;DR

  1. my gestures are off. how do i turn them on?
  2. how do i edit or make new gestures?

Swap Y and G keyboard shortcuts in the User Preferences / Input panel

Not a lot of people know that a Mouse Gestures addon is available. (space_view3d_mouse_gesture.py), a script. It worked with all recent versions of blender up to 2.65a. Unfortunately 2.66 has moved some code that prevents the script from working once again. Unfortunately I will have to pause and not upgrade beyond version 2.65a until this is fixed.

It’s a personal thing but i feel blender works better with a WACOM tablet :eyebrowlift:
