This 3D model of an Engraved Copper Box is my first stab at
using trim sheets for high detail pattern on my models. It is a fairly simple shape of the box, but I wanted some distorted faces in order to see how well this method worked out. I have used 2 materials, one with textures with the size 512x512 for the engravings and one 4096x4096 for the rest of the model.
I am very happy with the result.
If you try this method out, remember to unwrap everything before you start unwrapping specific faces working with your trim sheets. Otherwise you might end up with an “UV out of bounds” error when you try and export the model as Fbx.
