Ambient creation and 3D visualization.
Sofa Erasmo modeled by Nikola Matković.
Some objects I modeled by myself and some of them are from Blenderkit.
My focus was on light, atmosphere, materials and composition.
Light setup is Nishita, sun and sky system in Blender based on physical properties.
All done with Blender. Render engine is Cycles.
Since 2018. when I fully migrated from 3dsmax to Blender I explore Cycles renderer and trying to achieve results to be satisfied for my arch viz projects.
It was hard at the beginning, but now I feel very comfortable with Cycles. It is so great how Cycles is developed since it’s first launch.
As my workflow includes Free and Open Source Software only, some post work I did in Krita and Darktable.
I use Linux Mint as Operating System. Combination of Linux and Blender is awesome and I love to share my experience with that. Linux provides much better stability during the render and much better RAM usage.
Thank you!
I save denoised and noisy image rendered image as PNG.
In Krita I put denoised layer over noisy, around 40% transparency.
In Krita I do glow on bulbs too.
Background image is photo, which I place in Krita too.
Then in Darktable I apply Local Contrast, Levels, Color Balance, Sharpen, etc…
This is very nice!
I have used Darktable in the past, but never used it to it’s full ability. Do you manage to use these kinds of FOSS software in a normal professional environment?
I don’t use any software to it’s fully capacity. I use tools I need inside one.
Yes, I use FOSS only for my professional work.
Since I migrated to Linux completely, I use FOSS only. it was a bit tricky for post work, but I implemented Krita for post work.
GIMP still lacks adjustment layers, but Krita has Filter Layers that work very similar to Adjustment Layers in Ps.
Krita I use for post work when I need layers and masks.
Darktable for some tools like Local Contrast, Levels, White Balance, etc.
Interesting,
software migration requires courage and energy. You did a great job.
I also have a project for next year that has a curved design and shape. And it’s both more fun and harder.
