how do i get the woodgrain effect that i used a jpg for to stay when i export to 3ds?
I used add new material, then texture, select image and it works in blender but not in the 3ds saved file
You have to UV map the texture in Blender. Then export and make sure the image file is in the same directory as the .3ds file. The .3ds format knows nothing about Blender materials hence the need to UV map which is generally commonly understood across most formats.
