Extrude Mesh and Text in Geometry Nodes

Hello everyone. I am gaining my first experiences with Geometry Nodes and, with the valuable help from this forum, I’ve created a spiral with year numbers – thank you for the great input. Everything is generally on the right track, but now I’m facing a new challenge:

  • The paths of the spiral should have an extrusion inwards.
  • The numbers are only closed on one side.
  • At the top of the spiral, there should be an open space like at the bottom.

I’ve already tried a lot with Extrude Mesh, but I’ve only gotten strange results. Does anyone have any tips on what I might be missing here?

Thanks a lot!

This is what my Node looks like:

After you extrude the text join the original geo to the extruded bit to cap the bottom.

Ok, now you are cooking!

Heres a tip for the spacing, have a look at the trim curve node, you should be able now to work out how to use it to solve yr spacing problem.

Hope that helps you fish.

Well the simplest solution is to add a map range behind the divide, leave 0…1 for from and adjust the to values.
