extruding baseboard inwards to thicken

I am using e and s keys but i need to know how to make it exrude at 90 degrees on outside corners. Thanks

E to extrude. Enter to exit the extrude function. Then Alt-S to shrink/fatten.

I aggravates me that extrude doesn’t already work that way.
Hope that works for you.

EDIT: need to be in Global orientation, and median point pivot.
