Extruding part of a svg

Hi,

I have a logo and I need to make it 3D for a glass company. Never used blender before but there are many tutorials on how to make a 3D logo from an SVG but I can’t seem to find how do I just pull the middle of the logo out and leave the edges lower down.

My logo is this man’s face and I need it to be like the lion so raised in the middle and flatter round the edges. Any help would be so greatful thank you.

HI, and welcome into the forums…

Proportional Editing…
Thats what you need. Those icons at the top middle of the 3d Window - the 2 on the right - the circle dot turns on Proportion editing, and the curve is a drop down menu for selecting the method used.
Basic idea click the circle dot (or use the hotkey O), select one ore two control points (or an area) and lift up (usually along z axis). Scrolling the mouse wheel changes the size of the influence circle.

Check YT for tutorials, search the manual etc…

If it’s not a simple logo, you’ll have to use Sculpting.

Something I forgot to add earlier… You can also use the Shrinkwrap modifier to ‘wrap’ your svg model onto another model. So you could grab a free model from Sketchup etc. Or make one with Make Human. And then use shrinkwrap to conform your svg to that other model. Or perhaps convert the svg to a mesh so you can use vertex groups / weight painting to help control the shrinkwrap.
Perhaps too scary sounding… I am giving you words to google…
