Eyelash particles not mirroring

I have an eye and eyelid as separate meshes and both of them are mirrored. The eyelids have shape keys. I have added eye lashes although cant seem to work out how to mirror them to the other eyelid. I would prefer to do this without applying the mirror modifier because of the shape keys. Is this possible? I’ve attached the portion of the eyetest.blend (5.62 MB)mesh

You’re going to have to free edit and loose the changes to both particle systems, like combing and cutting. Then check “Use Modifier Stack” for both. Now re-do the changes to the eyelashes.
