whenever i try to make a face (by pushing the f button) it says incorrect # o’ vertices. I tried with a circle w/10 verices at first then w/ other shapes and it still no work.

The right keys are Shift-F, sir!
If you just use ‘f’, you can only have 3 or 4 vertices selected.
