FabiArt´s Sketchbook

Yeah, i think i also will go into the more mysterious route. I mean from a creative standpoint a mask is often a way of saying that something´s mysterious or there´s something hidden underneath  And i think that´s also what makes the game a good execution sample, especially for a detective game ^^

Working on some anatomical skills ^^

Inbetween sketch, working on shapes and compositions:

I like the simpleness of this setting (it´s just a tetrahedron(?)), the composition and the lighting/colour does the rest. Got a whole reference board with cool shapes and compositions to study from and it´s relaxing to do ^^

Third Skull done! There is a bit of progress in seeing the shapes and forms of the skull (and recreating them ^^)

Also tried out the technique of Nikolay Naydenov (SpeedChar) of sculpting the Face onto the Skull. It really helps to get the proportions more “straight”. Still a lot to learn ^^

Also also, just made another shape build :

Reworked it a bit to be more mysterious, also added a cowl ^^

I really dig this. This model could make for a amazing render with the right post FX, lighting and background.

Worked again on some anatomy. I like doing it when i´m not having creative energy, just seeing and repeating shapes. Maybe not creative, but nontheless useful in the long run for more complex characters ^^

That’s probably the best thing you can do in those times. Following tutorials and just practicing some specific technique is my go-to solution for art blocks too. That way you can wait them out without stalling your progress as an artist and being frustrated about it. And the practice itself can help get the inspiration back.
