Very cool tut, but when I join my First Plane to my Pillow Mesh and raise the value of my Shape Key, the First Plane locks the positions of the four corners of my plane, so I get this weird looking thing:

In order: Pattern Mesh, First Plane, Pillow Mesh, Pillow Plane w/ Cloth Mod

Same weird corner thing when I Surface Deform my Pattern Mesh.

I ran it fresh a couple times, and it keeps happening.

Anyone have any thoughts on why?

I don’t exactly understand the problem you have, but as a tip, make sure you place your plane and pattern mesh to the same location (same origin point) before you hit “Bind” in the surface deform modifier. Also, plane and pattern mesh should have the same size (make sure your pattern mesh is not bigger than the plane).

I featured you on BlenderNation, have a great weekend!

Thanks, but yeah, I made sure to align and match sizes each time. I just pulled them apart to take the screenshot.

Whelp, I’m gonna chalk this hiccup up to “Macintosh problems” and maybe give it a try using simpler mesh as a base.

Nice show off tricks
