Hiii Everyone :D!!!
This is my study of a face by sculpting from scratch without reference:yes:(using real faces when confused) in blender. I started from a Ico sphere with dyntopo;). I have never sculpted in blender this far. I have used ZBrush⌠So let me know how its going on:eek:???
I was thinking how the eyes should look then I found Paul Walker. And thought to make a little like Paul Walkerâs Eyes as a tributeâŚ
Let me know how its going on, please give your C&CâŚ
Hi artVikas, this looks like a good start. But I have some questions and hints.
Are you going for a male or a female head? Iâd say your head has features of both right now. Perhaps you should block out the main shapes, before you start to sculpt the details.
And you may want to do a research for planes of the head for example or anatomy in general. Iâ sorry, but I have to say that thereâs not much in the right proportion right now - thatâs OK for this early stage of course.
This is my study of a face by sculpting from scratch without reference
Someone - way more experienced and professional than I am - said that talent and practice wonât produce good results without proper reference. I had to go a long way myself before I learned that
Keep up the good work and keep us posted.
Modeling without reference can bring some interesting results, good luck But beware not to make your character too symmetric and perfect - people sometimes tend to do that when they make things up
Always use references.
Eyes look good. Face isnât bad, but it doesnât fit his head. Generally, the bottom of the eyes should be halfway up.
Here is a very useful tutorial from a Blender Artist member that might help: http://cgcookie.com/sculpt/cgc-courses/planes-face/
@minoribus
thanks for your feedback:D. Ya, you are right it has the feature of both right now;). I am well aware of face planes but Actually I am exploring my understanding of shapes, and as @sidam ressav said
Modeling without reference can bring some interesting results
And not using a reference I want to see what my subconscious mind have and what kind of face it can produce, will I be able to make a good face, can I rely on my mind about form and shapes without using a reference. I want to know what is wrong in my understanding of shapes so I can correct it, thats why I am making it then after that I will compare it.
Thanks again for your feedback:D
@sidam ressav
Thanks for feedback, I will follow your suggestion about symmetry. and Ya thats why I am working without reference for an interesting result.
@ pscott752 thanks for feedback and the link, I already know the face planes as I have studied Victor Perard but I will take a look at these videos too
I donât know about sculping but I think itâs really cool. The ears should be much smaller (they look great!!). Additionally, the whole head could be a bit less âstretchedâ but that isnât a big probelm and only my opinion.
Regards!
And Here is my update. I started it as a time pass study of face but now I think I should name it Avatar: The First Air Bender and texture it accordinglyâŚWhat do you think how its going on please let me know :eek:
mouth is too wide, ânoseholes?â are too large, the ears are too big, the neckmuscle is too intense, the eyes are placed too high up (normaly in the middle of the head, not slightly above) and the eyebrow area is too sharp and edgy.
generally looking good though, i think you can get somewhere with this
@ finalbarrage Thanks for feedback, I am making it that wayâŚ:yes:
