facecount ignores trianges

I’ve a cube I’ve converted to triangles. Blender’s UI tells me there are 12 faces (as expected). When I get a length on the faces attribute of the mesh, it says there are only 6 faces. Why is it not returning 12? I’m using 2.49b.


This is strange. I did not change anything in my code or object, but now it is returning 12.

Perhaps an “update” command was missing…?
