I think this is pretty good, but I thought I’d see if anyone had any input on the topology before I deform the mouth/jaw to an open position
If you look on CG Cookie in the archives for Topology Overview, there’s one for facial topology that might be helpful. You have the loops around the eyes and lips, but the “mask” loop that goes around the eyes and across the midline like a raccoon mask is missing. Also, you should have one that goes from below the lower lip, up around the mouth, and across the nose. Finally, there should be one that goes from the chin along the jawline and up across the head.
this will be the base mesh for when I sculpt in some details to generate a normals map from, but also the final animated mesh, so I am being careful to preserve the subtle contours of the original sculpted form but also make it animatable. I am not sure the standard arrangement of edge loops would hold the existing detail on the level I want.
but what is you goal here ?
should be in WIP section may be !
are you sharing model afterward ?
happy bl
it’s ok, I think I have identified the main problem areas now. thanks guys.
